Getting Started with MARCedit
Presenter:
Sarah B. Cornell
You’ll learn how to download the software, how to convert MARC files to MARCedit mnemonic files and back again (i.e., how to “break” and “make” MARC files), how to use the basic field editing tools, and how to create and run tasks if you do the same field edits frequently. I’ll end with a quick preview of where you might go next with MARCedit: joining and splitting files and integrating with OCLC or your ILS.
Sarah Cornell has been the Supervisor of Technical Services at the Portsmouth Public Library since 2012. Her experience includes serials acquisitions at a large university, paging at a special library, and serving as a generalist college librarian managing collection development and teaching information literacy classes.
Presentation will be recorded and emailed to registrants.
Sponsored by the NHLA Technical Services Committee.
