Advanced Cataloging
You’ve tackled the basics, now come learn how to catalog more than simple monograph records. We will focus on cataloging with RDA guidelines. This class will cover creating original MARC records for items from the normal DVDs that you might see more often, to the unique local collections you might want to add like novelty cake pans. You will learn about small scale systems used for cataloging like LibraryThing and Libib. Come ready with your thinking caps on as this class will be part lecture and part workshop. The Paralibrarian basic cataloging class is a prerequisite. Teacher: Brittney Bergholm
