READS Mission StatementThe Reference and Adult Services Section (READS) is a professional sounding board and advocate for matters relating to reference and adult services. READS provides informational and educational opportunities relevant to work in circulation, technical and interlibrary loan services, reference, readers’ advisory, collection development and programming. READS uses formal discussions, workshops and other informal formats to educate, empower and provide opportunities for collaboration with the entire New Hampshire library community. (Updated February 2012.) CommitteesNominating Committee An ad hoc committee consisting of the Past President and two other READS members, appointed by the READS President. Committee recruits candidates for READS elected executive board positions and for READS committee leadership positions. Conference Committee Plans and carries out two READS conferences every year: The annual Fall Program (October), an all day program that includes lunch, annual READS Business Meeting, and elections as well as the presentation of the READS Award of Excellence. A series of Spring roundtable discussions (around the 4th week in March) on a topic of interest to New Hampshire librarians. Curates books and discussion resources for kits to assist book discussion groups throughout the state of NH and the libraries that serve them. Award Selection Committee Coordinates the annual presentation of the READS Award of Excellence. New! Program Committee |
