The Technology Roundtable will be held in the room where the Technology Petting Zoo will be held, and offers a chance for discussion of new technology.
This roundtable is an opportunity for assistant directors from all kinds and sizes of libraries to gather and discuss issues of interest.
A structured discussion, led by NH librarians who attended the Portland sessions, which will aim to recap the conference, identify its major themes, solicit feedback, and pass out copies of worthwhile handouts. Our goal is to share information with those unable to attend PLA, or with those who went, but didn't get to see everything.
In July 2009, Melinda Raupach participated in the ACRL (Association of College & Research Libraries) Institute for Information Literacy Immersion Program, Teacher Track. Through active audience participation and discussion, Melinda brings back to the library community what she learned about teaching and learning styles, student learning theory, creative and engaging pedagogy, and developing rubrics to assess IL learning outcomes that make sense.

This workshop is about managing staff and culture in difficult times, which may require the restructuring of duties and the labor force. It will focus on "survivor syndrome" and strategies for managing transitions especially in a down economy. This will include helping participants better understand the emotional impact of change in a turbulent work environment.
